Frequently asked questions
Booking
If your preferred cabin does not appear in the online booking system, it’s either sold out or not available on your selected departure. Our onboard reception team will be pleased to assist you in finding a suitable alternative.
When you book a journey with us, you accept our travel terms and conditions. We recommend that you read them carefully before completing your reservation.
Please note that cancellation policies vary depending on the market through which you book:
- Danish market (DKK)
- Norwegian market (NOK)
- International market (EUR)
you can view our full travel terms and conditions here.
The minimum age for Return and One Way journeys is 16 years. For a MiniCruise, the minimum age is 18 years.
Passengers under 16 or 18 respectively must therefore travel with an adult.
For safety reasons, we do not offer an unaccompanied minor service.
Unfortunately, we don’t operate waiting lists for our departures. We recommend checking the online booking system regularly, where you can see all currently available cabins.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a specific cabin number or adjacent cabins. However, at check-in you’re always welcome to ask whether an alternative cabin is available, subject to availability.
Yes. Each cabin has a fixed number of berths, which cannot be exceeded for safety reasons.
Infants (0–3 years) are not counted towards the stated occupancy, provided they share a berth with a parent or guardian.
You can find the maximum berth capacity for each cabin category in the booking system and on our website.
We distinguish between three vehicle categories:
- Car: up to 1.85 metres high and up to 5 metres long
- Large car: between 1.85 and 2.2 metres high and up to 6 metres long
- Extra large car: between 1.85 and 4 metres high and up to 10 metres long
Please remember to check your vehicle’s dimensions before booking, including any bike racks, roof boxes or other attachments. If your vehicle does not match the category booked, you may be refused boarding
If you are 10 or more people travelling together, please contact us at grupperejser@gonordiccruiseline.com or
- +45 72 62 16 17 , and we will be pleased to assist you with your group booking.
We don’t offer travel insurance. We therefore recommend that you arrange your own private travel insurance to ensure you’re covered should your travel plans change.
Peak season covers our most popular departures. During these periods, selected offers and gift vouchers may have limited or no availability.
Peak season in 2026 includes the following dates:
- 6 February – 21 February
- 27 February – 28 February
- 6 March – 7 March
- 27 March – 5 April
- 13 May – 16 May
- 26 June – 8 August
- 25 September – 3 October
- 9 October – 17 October
- 18 December – 31 December
Our fares are dynamic and based on supply and demand. This means that prices may vary, and some departures may have limited or no availability at the advertised fare.
When booking on our website, you’ll always see the current price. If you delay your booking, the fare may change in the meantime.
For special offers and gift vouchers, a limited number of cabins are allocated at the promotional price. Once these are sold out, the departure may still be available at a different fare.
Payment
It’s not possible to reserve tickets, as we operate with dynamic prices. Payment must be made at the time of booking.
Please first check that your card details have been entered correctly. When booking online, we accept most major debit and credit cards.
If you’re still experiencing payment issues, please contact us at customerservice@gonordiccruiseline.com or call +45 72 62 16 66 , and we will be happy to assist you.
The climate surcharge (ETS) is a mandatory fee passed on to the EU under the Emissions Trading System. The scheme is designed to combat climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The surcharge will automatically be added to your booking for departures from 12 April 2026 onwards.
The amount depends on:
- the number of passengers
- whether you are travelling with a vehicle
- the type and size of the vehicle
The prices listed apply per direction (for example, Copenhagen–Oslo). For return journeys (such as a MiniCruise), the surcharge is applied to both directions.
Example:
If you are travelling alone on a MiniCruise, you will pay 2 × DKK 35 = DKK 70 in total.

Check-in and Boarding
Check-in closes 15 minutes before departure. For sailings departing at 16:30 from both Copenhagen and Oslo, you must therefore be checked in no later than 16:15.
You can check in quickly and easily on your mobile phone before arriving at the terminal.
How to check in on your mobile:
- At 18:30 on the day before departure, you will receive a link by SMS – simply follow the link.
- Check that the details for all passengers are correct and select “Confirm”.
- Select “View boarding pass” to receive one QR code per passenger.
- Proceed to the boarding gate and present the QR codes together with valid photo ID for all travellers.
Please remember to check in for your return journey
If you have booked a MiniCruise or a return journey, you must check in again for the return sailing and present a new QR code at boarding.
Are you arriving separately?
You’re welcome to board separately. Simply share the QR codes with your fellow travellers via your digital wallet or as a screenshot.
Please check your booking confirmation for the relevant check-in and boarding times. We also recommend allowing extra time for traffic and higher passenger numbers during peak season.
Boarding opens once the cabins are ready and no later than 75 minutes before departure.
- Premium cabins: boarding from 12:45
- Standard cabins: boarding from 14:45
If you’re travelling on a MiniCruise, you may re-board approximately one hour after arrival in Oslo, which is at 11:00 for the return sailing.
If you’re travelling with a vehicle, boarding is available from 14:45 until 15 minutes before departure, regardless of cabin category.
If you arrive after check-in or boarding has closed, your ticket will unfortunately be cancelled. We therefore recommend that you always check the latest check-in and boarding times stated in your booking confirmation.
You may re-board approximately one hour after arrival in Oslo or Copenhagen. The scheduled arrival time is 10:00, and boarding for the return sailing begins at 11:00.
Cabins
For safety reasons, it’s unfortunately not permitted to bring your own baby cot on board.
Infants aged 0–3 travel free of charge provided they do not require their own berth (up to 2 infants per cabin).
If you’re staying in a Commodore De Luxe cabin or an Owner’s Suite, you may request to borrow a baby cot. These cabin categories offer additional space, ensuring that a cot does not obstruct the exit.
Baby cots are available from the reception on deck 7. Please note that availability cannot be guaranteed. In general, infants are expected to share a bed with a parent or guardian.
Yes, a bed guard can be fitted to the upper or lower bunks in our standard cabins. This can be a practical solution if you’re travelling with children.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to fit bed guards to double beds in our premium cabins.
If you would like to request a bed guard for your standard cabin, please contact the reception on deck 7.
An extra bed is available in selected premium cabins and in our accessible cabins.
It’s not possible to book an extra bed online. Please contact customer service at customer@gonordiccruiseline.com or call +45 72 62 16 66 for further information.
You can see which cabin categories accommodate an extra bed in our cabin overview
Please note that it’s not possible to have both a baby cot and an extra bed in the same cabin.
No. You will only share a cabin with the people included in your own booking. We don’t place unrelated passengers together in the same cabin.
Our cabins accommodate up to five guests. If your group exceeds this number, an additional cabin will automatically be added to your reservation. If you would prefer more space, you’re welcome to book extra cabins.
All cabins have a private bathroom for your exclusive use.
Onboard Facilities
All prices on board are stated in Danish kroner (DKK). At the ship’s outlets, you may pay in commonly used currencies (DKK, NOK, SEK, EUR and GBP) as well as with most major debit and credit cards.
For safety reasons, it’s not permitted to stay on the vehicle deck during the crossing.
Please remember to take everything you will need on board with you when leaving your vehicle.
Smoking is only permitted in the designated smoking area located outdoors on deck 9 at the aft of the ship.
Clear signage on board will guide you to the area. If you’re unsure, our crew will be happy to assist you.
All crew members are trained in first aid. However, there are no medical facilities or doctor on board. You should therefore ensure that you’re fit to travel before departure. We also strongly recommend that you have appropriate travel insurance in case of illness or accident.
Seasickness tablets are not available for purchase on board, so we advise buying them at a pharmacy before you travel. Acupressure wristbands (Sea-Band), which may help relieve seasickness, can be purchased from the reception on deck 7.
Yes. If you have booked a premium cabin, Wi-Fi access is included throughout your journey.
If you’re travelling in a standard cabin, Wi-Fi can be purchased via the service provider Telenor Maritime. You may do this directly from your phone or by contacting the reception on board.
Please note that WiFi access applies to one device at a time.
WiFi Packages
- Surf Small (1 hour): DKK 39.00
- Surf Medium (5 hours): DKK 79.00
- Surf One Way (24 hours): DKK 119.00
- Surf Round Trip (44 hours): DKK 199.00

Please ensure that your phone is set up with the correct network settings. We recommend disabling roaming to avoid charges being applied to your personal mobile bill.
While at sea, mobile phones connect to the ship’s satellite network via Telenor Maritime. This means that charges for calls, text messages and data may be significantly higher than usual.
We therefore recommend contacting your mobile provider in advance to check prices and terms before using your phone on board.
Before Departure
Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway and Denmark)
A valid physical driving licence is accepted. However, we strongly recommend bringing a valid physical passport, as this is the only form of identification recognised outside your home country.
Schengen and other EU countries
A valid physical passport or national ID card is required.
All other countries
A valid physical passport and, where applicable, a valid visa for your destination country are required.
It’s your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all applicable entry and documentation requirements. Go Nordic Cruiseline cannot be held liable if you’re refused entry.
You may either bring a copy of your booking confirmation or have your six-digit booking reference number ready to present to our staff.
There are no fixed luggage limits when travelling with Go Nordic Cruiseline. However, you must be able to handle and carry your luggage safely and independently.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring a pushchair/stroller or pram/baby carriage on board. Please contact the reception on deck 7, where our crew can assist you with storage during the crossing.
It’s not permitted to bring plants, seeds, fruit, vegetables or other plant products into the EU from countries outside the EU without a phytosanitary certificate.
This means, for example, that you may not bring a bouquet of roses, an apple or an orange into an EU country unless you have a valid phytosanitary certificate issued by the exporting country.
The following fruits are exempt from this requirement: pineapple, coconut, banana, durian and dates.
You can find further information about the import of plants and plant products on the European Commission’s website.

Travelling with Pets
You’re welcome to bring your dog or cat on board.
When booking, please add the number of pets under “Passenger” and select a pet-friendly cabin. These cabins accommodate a maximum of two pets.

No, your pet cannot remain in the car during the crossing.
Temperatures on the vehicle deck may vary, and for the safety and welfare of your pet, this is not permitted.
The vehicle deck is locked while at sea, and you’ll only regain access to your car shortly before arrival.
Your pet must have a valid pet passport that meets the official entry requirements for travel between the countries you are visiting.
